*Helpful Items To Keep On Hand At All Times*

Below is a list of items/ products/ medications that I highly recommend keeping on hand at all times to maintain proper tank conditions, for the health and happiness of your axolotl, and for “emergency” situations. Some items are a MUST, but all of them will come in handy at one point or another in your axolotl-owning-adventures!

*A couple small-medium sized, clean Rubbermaid tubs WITH lids for the purpose of tubbing your axolotl as necessary

*Soft Net (I prefer to use a large brine shrimp nets)

*Turkey Baster (for spot cleaning and/or feeding)

*Aquarium Test Kit OR Test Strips (make sure to have ammonia strips too!)

* SeaChem Prime (IMPORTANT! Removes chlorine)

*SeaChem Stability (helps establish new tanks as well as maintain healthy bio systems in already established tanks)

*SeaChem Equilibrium (increases gH & kH in case of SOFT water)

*Indian Almond Leaf (contains medicinal properties and also helps to lower high pH)

*Aquarium Salt (helpful in cleaning/disinfecting tubs/tanks/decor without harsh chemicals—can also be used for emergency salt baths)

*Methylene Blue (useful in helping to cure more persistent cases of fungus)

*Furan 2 (bacterial medication for fish, helpful in treating more aggressive cases of fungus in axolotls)
